مشال نے ایک پینری کو اُٹھاتے اُس کا جائزہ لیا مگر اُس کو سمجھ نا آیا کہ یہ کونسا پودا ہے۔
“یہ مہندی کی پنیریاں ہیں۔”
اصفہان نے مصروف انداز میں جواب دیا۔
“مہندی!آپ یہ کیوں لیں آئے کوئی پھولوں والے پودے لاتے نا؟”
مشال کو اچنبھا ہوا۔بھلا گھر میں مہندی کے پودے لگانے کی کیا تُک تھی۔
“یہ پودے اس لیے ہیں کیونکہ مجھے اپنی بیگم کے ہاتھوں پر مہندی دیکھنی اور کمیکل والی مہندی آپ کو سوٹ نہیں کرتی تو میں نے یہ حَل نکالا ہے کہ ہم آپ کے لیے گھر میں مہندی بنائیں گے۔”
اصفہان نے مشال کو دیکھتے تفصیلی جواب دیا اور اس کے جواب پر مشال بے ساختہ گردن پیچھے پھینکتی ہنس پڑی۔
“میرے علم میں آیا تھا کہ میری دُلہن مجھ سے عمر میں چار سال بڑی ہے۔”
وہ آئینے میں اُس کا عکس دیکھتے پُر سوچ انداز میں کہ رہا تھا جبکہ اُس کی بات پر مشال کے جُھکے چہرے پر ایک سایہ لہرایا اور اس کا چہرہ سپید پڑ گیا۔
“مگر مجھے تو ایسا کچھ نہیں لگ رہا۔آپ بھی دیکھیں۔۔۔”
اصفہان نے اپنی بات مکمل کرتے مشال کا جُھکا چہرہ اپنے ہاتھ سے اُوپر اُٹھا کر سامنے آئینے کی سمت اشارہ کیا۔
وہ ٹھیک کہہ رہا تھا مشال اگر اُس سے بہت چھوٹی نہیں لگ رہی تھی تو اُس سے بڑی بھی بالکل نہیں لگ رہی تھی اور کچھ اُس کے چہرے کے نرم نقوش اور اصفہان کے کندھے سے کچھ اُوپر آتے قد کا بھی کمال تھا کہ اُس کی اور اصفہان کی جوڑی جچ رہی تھی۔
“لگ رہے ہیں نا پرفیکٹ میچ!”
مشال کے گرد بازو کا حصار کھینچتے اصفہان نے اُس کے ماتھے پر اپنا لمس چھوڑا تو مشال کے سپید چہرے پر سُرخی پھیلی۔

Just read the novelette “ mehndi ka rang pheeka” by abeera kanwal. And it was a really good read. Short rom com story really felt good , character was cute, and the story itself was very well written.

ناول مہندی کا رنگ پھیکا مصنفہ نے بہت اچھا لکھا ہے سٹوری کمال کی تھی نا تو سٹوری کو زیادہ کھینچا گیا تھا اور نہ ہی محتصر تھی۔ ہر سین فلو کے ساتھ چل رہا تھا۔ اگر بات کروں زبان اور اسلوب کی تو ناول کی زبان سادہ، رواں اور آسان فہم ہے۔ کہیں ڈھونڈنے سے بھی کوئی غلطی نہیں ملی۔ اس ناول میں مصنفہ نے ایک بات بہت اچھی کہی کہ ” زندگی یوں ہی پُر سکون گزرتی ہے کچھ تلخیوں کو برداشت کرتے چھوٹے چھوٹے لمحوں کو جیتے، کچھ غموں کو نظر انداز کرتے، قدم قدم پر خوشیاں اکٹھی کرتے اور کچھ رنجشوں کو اپنی یاداشت سے مٹاتے پُر مُسرّت یادوں کو اپنے ذہن کا حصہ بناتے۔”
اس ناول میں مصنفہ نے جن دو مسلوں کا ذکر کیا ہے یہ ہمارے معاشرے کے ایسے پہلو ہیں جن پر سب بات کرتے ہیں اور بھر چر کر بات کرتے ہیں یہ سوچے سمجھے بغیر کہ ان کے یہ تلخ الفاظ دوسرے کے دل پر خنجر کی طرح چبھتے ہیں۔ جس کی تکلیف عمر بھر رہتی ہے کہتے ہیں کہ زخم تو بھر جاتے ہیں لیکن ان کے نشان ساری عمر رہتے ہیں اسی طرح لوگ باتیں کر کے بھول جاتے ہیں لیکن ان کے الفاظ دوسرے کے دل پر ہمیشہ کے لیے نقش ہو جاتے ہیں۔
اور بات کی جائے ساس اور نند کی تو یہ وہ مخلوق ہے جو کبھی خوش نہیں ہو سکتی۔ ناول کے کرداروں اور سٹوری پر زیادہ بات نہیں کروں گی نہیں تو سسپنس ختم ہو جائے گا۔ Rating دوں تو 8/10 ہے۔ اس ناول کو ایک دفعہ تو ضرور پڑھیں۔
یہ ناول کمپیٹیشن کے criteria پر پورا اترتا ہے۔ مصنفہ سے بس اتنا کہوں گی کہ اسی طرح اچھا اچھا لکھتی رہیں۔ آپ کے قلم میں وہ بات ہے جو قاری کو اپنے ساتھ باندھ لیتی ہے۔
