“بے وقوف مت بنو ماہا.” عون نے اس کا ہاتھ پکڑا تھا اور جلدی سے گاڑی دوبارہ اسٹارٹ کی۔ تھوڑا سا آگے جانے کے بعد اس نے ایک ذیلی سڑک پر گاڑی سائڈ پر کر کے روک دی۔

“آپ مجھ پر شک کر رہے ہیں۔ جب آپ کو معلوم ہو گیا ہے کہ میرے رویے کے پیچھے عروج کی باتوں کا دخل تھا تو پھر آپ ایسی باتیں کیوں کر رہے ہیں۔ ” وہ بھرائے ہوئے لہجے میں بولی۔

تمہیں میری باتوں سے تکلیف پہنچی نا تو یہ سوچو کہ پچھلے چند ماہ میں نے کتنی اذیت میں گزارے ہیں۔ تم نے بھی تو میری محبت پر شک کیا تھا۔ ” عون نے ٹشو با کس سے ٹشو نکال کر اسے تھمائے۔

“میرے شک کے پیچھے آپ کی عروج کا ہاتھ تھا۔” وہ آنسو پونچھتے ہوئے جس قدر جل کر بولی۔ عون کو ہنسی روکنا مشکل ہو گیا۔

“اور اگر میں کہوں کہ عروج سے زیادہ تمہاری اپنی حماقتوں کا ہاتھ تھا تو؟ تمہیں بھی میرے رویے سے ایسا لگا کہ میں نا خوش ہوں؟” وہ پوچھ رہا تھا۔

“مجھے لگتا تھا جیسے آپ خوش ہونے کی ایکٹنگ کرتے ہیں۔” اس نے سادگی سے جواب دیا۔

“اگر مجھے اتنی بہترین اداکاری آتی تو اب تک میں آسکر ایوارڈ کے لیے نامزد ہو چکا ہوتا۔” وہ ہنس دیا۔

“بہر حال مجھے خواب تو نہیں آتے تھے ناکہ آپ مجھے پسند کرتے ہیں۔ آج تک آپ نے کبھی احساس دلایا اس بات کا؟” اس نے شکوہ کیا۔

“دیکھو یہ تم زیادتی کر رہی ہو ۔ کم از کم اس فہرست میں سے آج کا دن نکال دو۔ میں نے ابھی تین منٹ پہلے ہی تم سے اظہار محبت کیا ہے۔ ” وہ مسکراہٹ دباتے ہوئے بولا۔

“ویسے تمہارے چار بھائیوں کی موجودگی میں میں تم سے خواب میں ہی اظہار محبت کر سکتا تھا۔ حقیقت میں نہیں۔” عون نے لطف لیتے ہوئے کہا۔

“جی نہیں بہت لبرل ہیں میرے بھائی ، منگنی والے روز وہ آپ کو صرف اس لیے گھر لائے تھے تاکہ میں دیکھ سکوں۔ ” اس نے فورا بھائیوں کی حمایت کی۔ اس بے ساختہ اعتراف پر عون کے لبوں پر مسکراہٹ دوڑ گئی۔
