اس سے دور ہوتے ہوئے زرتاش نے اسے گھورتے ہوئے پوچھا۔ “تو پھر تم ہی بتاؤ کہ میں کیا کروں؟ کیا ناک رگڑوں تمہارے آگے یا ہاتھ باندھ کر کھڑا ہو جاؤں کہ دیوی جی معاف کر دیں؟” اس نے چبا چبا کر کہا تھا۔ زرتاش کے ماتھے پر بھی بل پڑ گئے۔ وہ اسے غصے سے گھورتے ہوئے ایک جھٹکے سے کھڑی ہوئی اور تیزی سے دروازے کی طرف بڑھی، مگر اس کی کلائی پھر عزم کے ہاتھ میں تھی۔ “اتنا نخرہ کیوں دکھا رہی ہو, ابھی اپنی اماں سے جا کر کہتا ہوں کہ کل ہی رخصتی کروا دیں۔ پھر تو؟ تو جائیں نا، کہیں اماں سے، مجھ پر کیا رعب ڈال رہے ہیں؟”
