وہ گال پر ہاتھ رکھے، صدمے سے گنگ حیرت و بے یقینی سے نورسین کو دیکھنے لگا تھا۔

نورسین نے وحشت کے عالم میں ہاتھ سے خاموش رہنے کا اشارہ کرتے ہوئے تنبیہ دی تھی۔
“تم اس حد تک گر جاؤ گے مجھے اس کا ہرگز اندازہ نہ تھا۔ تم اس طرح سے میرا کھیل تماشا بناؤ گے مجھے اس کا ہرگز گمان نہ تھا۔ گھٹیا انسان! آئندہ میرے راستے میں آنے کی کوشش کی تو میں تمہارا منہ توڑدوں گی۔”
وہ تیزی سے جانے کے لیے مڑ گئی تھی اور وہ سنسان گلی میں اپنے سرخ پڑتے گال پر ہاتھ رکھے ساکت کھڑا رہ گیا تھا۔

وہ جو ٹھکرانے والوں میں سے تھا۔ آج اسے ٹھکرادیا گیا تھا۔
بے دردی سے۔ بے رحمی سے۔
وہ جو مٹی میں ملانے والا تھا۔ آج اسے خاک کر دیا گیا تھا۔ ذلالت سے حقارت سے۔
