جب میں نے آپ کو رونمائی کا گفٹ دینے کا سوچا تو پتا ہے سب سے پہلے میرے دماغ میں کیا آیا؟ داستانِ محبت کب کیوں اور کیسے مرحلے سے آگے بڑھ چکی تھی۔ گوہر افشاں نے ذرا کی ذرا نظریں اٹھا کر اسے دیکھا۔ مقصود نے سائیڈ ٹیبل پر سے ایک ضخیم کتاب اٹھائی تھی۔ گوہر افشاں نے ٹائٹل دیکھا، “راہِ رواں”، اس کی پسندیدہ کتاب۔ کیا کمال کی ذہنی ہم آہنگی تھی دونوں کی۔ اس کا دل خدا کے اس لطف و کرم پر مزید مشکور ہوا۔ “یہ بانو قدسیہ کے قلم سے ان کے شوہر کی داستانِ حیات ہے۔ بانو قدسیہ اور اشفاق احمد صاحب طرزِ ادیب ہونے کے ساتھ ساتھ کیسے باکمال انسان تھے، میں ان کی داستانِ حیات پڑھتے ہوئے ہر بار نئے سرے سے مبہوت ہو جاتا ہوں۔ میری خواہش ہے کہ ہم بھی ایک دوسرے کے لیے ایسے ہی رفیقِ سفر ثابت ہوں”۔ وہ کائنات کا پہلا دولہا تھا جو رونمائی میں دلہن کو کتاب گفٹ کر رہا تھا۔ “ویسے میری اسٹڈی میں شفیق الرحمٰن کی حماقتیں اور مزید حماقتیں بھی ہیں”۔
وہ اب شرير ہو کر اس پرانی بات کا حوالہ دے رہا تھا جس پر اس نے اسے مقصود گھوڑا سے تشبیہ دی تھی۔ گوہر افشاں جھینپ کر مسکرا دی تھی۔
“خیر اب یہ نہ سمجھیے گا کہ میں منہ دکھائے میں صرف کتاب پر ہی ٹھر جاؤں گا۔ میں نے آپ کے لیے بریسلیٹ” مقصود نے کہتے کہتے جیب ٹٹولی تھی۔ پھر جلدی سے اٹھ کر سائیڈ ٹیبل پر نگاہ دوڑائی۔ اگلی باری درازوں کی آئی تھی۔ وہ اب قدر بوکھلا گیا تھا۔ گوہر افشاں شرم و جھجک بلائے طاق رکھتے ہوئے دلچسپی سے اس کی بوکھلاہٹ سے لطف اندوز ہو رہی تھی۔ “کہیں رکھ کر بھول گیا ہوں، اب ماں سے پوچھنے جاؤں گا تو الگ ڈانٹ پڑے گی،” وہ پریشان ہوا۔ “آپ ٹینشن نہ لیں، میرے لیے یہ کتاب بھی کافی ہے،” گوہر افشاں نے مسکراہٹ دباتے ہوئے اسے حوصلہ دیا۔ مقصود نے آنکھوں سے اشارہ کرتے ہوئے اسے دیکھا پھر کھسیا کر بولا،
“مذاق اڑا رہی ہیں؟ بھائی، سچی بات تو یہ ہے کہ میں بھی کچھ کچھ کنفیوز ہو رہا ہوں۔ شرمانا، گھبرانا صرف لڑکیوں کی خصوصیت تھوڑی ہے۔ لڑکے بھی تو زندگی میں پہلی بار دولہا بننے کے تجربے سے گزرتے ہیں۔ تھوڑا سا گھبرانا، شرمانا تو بنتا ہے نا؟” وہ تاثر دینا چاہ رہا تھا۔ گوہر افشاں نے مسکرا کر اس بات میں سر ہلایا۔
