“کیا ہو گیا ہے آپ کو؟ شاہ سائیں تو خوش ہوں گے۔” ندرت نے حیرانی سے کہا۔
“وہ خوش نہیں ہوں گے۔ اولاد صرف خاندانی عورت سے پیدا کی جاتی ہے اور میں؟ یہ تو تم بھی جانتی ہونا ندرت کہ خون بہا میں آنے والی عورتوں کو صرف گھروں میں جگہ دی جاتی ہے ان سے اولاد پیدا نہیں کی جاتی۔” وہ پھنکار رہی تھی۔ “انہوں نے آپ کو بیوی کا درجہ دیا ہے تو اولاد ہوئی ہے نا۔” ندرت نے عجیب سے لہجے میں کہا۔

“یہ کیا حالت بنائی ہوئی ہے تم نے؟”
اس کا لہجہ سخت ہوا تھا۔ اربیحہ کا چہرہ سرخ ہو رہا تھا، آنکھیں بھی شدت گریہ سے سرخ تھیں اور ہونٹ سوجے ہوئے تھے۔ وہ خاموشی سے ہونٹ کاٹتی رہی۔۔
“کیا پوچھ رہا ہوں میں؟” اس نے سختی سے اس کا شانہ جھنجوڑا۔ اس کی آنکھیں چھلک اٹھیں۔
“ایسا تو نہیں ہو سکتا کہ آپ کے علم میں نہ ہو، انجان بننے کا مقصد؟” اس کی آواز بلند نہیں تھی مگر لہجہ ضرور تھا۔ وہ حیران ہوا۔
“مگر مجھے اپنا بچہ چاہیئے۔” اس نے ایک ہی جملے میں باور کروا دیا تھا کہ وہ اتنا بے خبر نہیں تھا۔
