حفصہ ایک جھٹکے سے زمین پر گری، اُس کی چیخ بلند ہوئی، وہ روتے روتے احمد کے قدموں سے لپٹ گئی۔

“نہیں احمد! ایسا مت کریں! میرے ماں باپ کا سوچیں… میری عزت کا… میں جیسی بھی زندگی آپ کہیں گے، ویسی گزار لوں گی… میں قسم کھاتی ہوں، سب کچھ سہہ لوں گی… بس طلاق نہ دیں… میرے ماں باپ کیسے

جئیں گے؟ میرا کیا بنے گا؟”

وہ پاگلوں کی طرح، آنسوؤں سے بھیگے چہرے، پھٹے لباس اور کانپتے لبوں کے ساتھ التجا کرتی رہی۔

مگر احمد کی آنکھوں میں رحم کا ایک قطرہ بھی نہ تھا۔ اُس نے اُسے دوبارہ زور سے دھکیل دیا، اور بول اٹھا:

وہ جو دعاؤں کے سہارے اس گھر میں داخل ہوئی تھی، آج بددعاؤں اور تہمتوں کے ساتھ بےدخل کی جا رہی تھی۔

جس نے رشتے کو عبادت جانا، اُسے ہی سب سے زیادہ رُسوا ہونا پڑا۔

حَفصہ کا دل بیٹھنے لگا،وہ مسکرا نہ سکی —بس نم آنکھوں سے اُسے دیکھتی رہی،جیسے کوئی ماں اپنے بچھڑے بچے کو پاتا ہے…لیکن جانتی ہے، یہ لمحہ عارضی ہے۔دُعا کے لبوں پر وہی تھکی مسکراہٹ جمی رہی،اور اُس نے ایک قدم آگے بڑھایا…پھر دوسرا قدم…اور جیسے ہی تیسرا قدم اُٹھا —فضا کو چیرتی ہوئی آواز آئی:

“زُوں!”ایک گاڑی،اندھیرے سے نکلی، روشنی کو چیرتی،دھواں اڑاتی، شور مچاتی —ایسی کہ ہوائیں بھی راستہ چھوڑ دیں۔حَفصہ نے چیخ ماری:

“دُعــــــــــااااااا!”

دُعا کی پلکیں جھپکیں،آنکھوں کے سامنے جیسے ہر چیز دھندلی ہونے لگی۔آوازیں، سڑک، حَفصہ کا چہرہ…سب بکھرنے لگا۔دُعا کی سانسیں رک گئیں۔دل نے ایک آخری دھڑکن ماری —اور قدم جیسے زمیں میں جم گئے۔گاڑی کی آواز، چیخ، اور ایک خاموش دھماکہ۔زمین پر کہرام مچ گیا —لوگ دوڑے، دروازے کھلے، شور بڑھا۔جنید بھاگتا ہوا آیا،دل کانپتا، زبان لڑکھڑاتی:

“دُعا!”وہ گھٹنوں کے بل گرا —

حَفصہ زمین پر بیٹھ چکی تھی،ہاتھوں سے منہ ڈھانپ کر رو رہی تھی،اور اُس کی آنکھوں میں صرف ایک تصویر تھی —

“دُعا کی مسکراہٹ۔”

دُعا کے چہرے پر اب بھی وہی ہلکی سی روشنی تھی،جیسے وہ کہہ رہی ہو:

“میں نے کہا تھا نا… آؤں گی۔”

اور پھر…سب کچھ خاموش ہو گیا۔نہ چیخ رہی، نہ حرکت،نہ آنکھوں میں منظر…
